Yes, it's true on this version You can't generate and new key has also different look and content, but license file still works. So You must still use old.

I will just stick to using "portable" versions of CCleaner but won't use them much

I stopped using CCleaner last year because of the Microsoft Windows Defender app detecting & removing CCleaner as noted from several sites like these:

M$ also flags keygens , patches as potentially unwanted apps and delete them. As per information in pureinfotech website there is nothing serious about ccleaner. It is just flagged as PUA because it may contain 3rd party installers but you are given option to avoid them. Coming to ccleaner registry cleaner option, it never gave me any problems on 10. So M$ has no business to flag ccleaner as PUA. M$ removed experienced programmers and hired stupids who are puppets. So all this nonsense.
