I wasn't happy when my previous ACR app was blocked from recording my calls by Google themselves, and now they add the feature to their own phones... However, this feature they are adding still says it won't be in some countries. 
Even though call recording is legal here in Canada, I bet it won't be available here anyways. I'm not buying a pixel anyways *shrug*

Can someone add this feature to a custom rom? Or is this impossible to port?

They removed it from most android oems, and now they are returning it to Pixels only, thats shame, hope they will  make it available to other oems, this is great feature though.

Tried a few different apps over the years but never found a good one. Most of them always looked a bit shady.
Would be great if google develops this further and adds it as a standardized version to stock android.

Call recording has been a PITA for as long as I can remember on Android.   
3rd party apps seem to depend on recording speakerphone mode, which also doesn't work right on any apps I tried (many).   
Does anyone use an app that works?

Does the other person know the call is being recorded? I didn't even know this was a thing, now I'm kinda paranoid that people could be recording my conversations.

If the other side knew you were recording it,
that would likely defeat the purpose of why you need to record the call to begin with,  wouldn't it?
