My wife and I have both received both doses of the Pfizer vaccine. For both doses, both she and I had reactions the second day after the shot, and the reaction after the second dose was worse. We both felt sick, achy, and feverish, although we had no temperature. This reaction lasted only about 12 hours each time, and there was no further reaction.

In terms of efficacy, which is really why we get the vaccine in the first place, the Pfizer seems to be most effective at 95% effective (which is remarkably effective). So to get this protection for about 24 hours (12 hours each time) of feeling lousy, I think that's a small price to pay.

agreed, i assumed all of them are good enough in terms of efficacy, as e.g. Moderna also reported 93-94% efficacy which shouldn't really make a difference.

Dilemma.

I am booked in at pharmacy for Astra Zenica vaccine on Tuesday.

However I have low a low platelet (plaquette) count, so do I go for it:

you might not able to get a prophylaxic anticoagulant, but i still think benefits of vaccine outweighs likely adverse effects, esp. as thrombosis hasn't been proved to be one of them.

My friend had the J&J vaccine (only one shot is enough) and she is doing good since past 20 days, no issues.

Update.

Just returned from pharmacy.
The wife and myself just had our first AZ vaccine. Had to wait 15 minutes after just in case.

Just an update on my platelets, in case anyone else might be in the same boat. My doctor told me that my lower than normal platelets count could be an advantage with the blood clot situation, as it is those with normal count that have had the problems. It is the platelets that mutiply against the vaccine and in some rare cases this causes the blood clots. My doctor gave me his approval to have the vaccine, and passed this on to the pharmacist.
