Facebook, with its new name Meta, may prioritize privacy, but I guess there is no one who does not know that it secretly sells data or uses it for commercial purposes. They say, "If the product is free, you are the product".

I never used it.......

I heavily doubt the data issues will be the concern of most people. Most people don't care or simply don't really understand the implications.

The issue is that they don't even know what information Facebook has on them. They think it's only the stuff that they deliberately want Facebook to know, or that it's nothing of any actual interest. When they find out the scope of the data mined on them... A 'normie' friend of mine broke his iPhone and bought a replacement a few years back. He didn't have to migrate anything at all, it was all just there. The new phone also showed where the photos were taken based on the metadata. He was shocked that all his stuff was somewhere on the internet and that all that stuff could be determined from the files alone. The one thing that most people never get is the 'they'll come for you too' factor. They think they're too unimportant to be targeted with anything.

I'm glad I did it too over a year ago. I've never looked back and it's been a relief.
I even convinced some family members and friends to do so. Points for me! ![]()

I've never had, and never will have, a mobile phone nor Facebook, nor Twitter, nor WhatsApp.
Apart from the privacy factor, I just don't get why people want to put all their personal details on-line everyday from "I broke a fingernail" to "here's a photo of the twins eating a spider". I'm sure somewhere there's info on me of course, but I'm not gonna make it easy and "co-operate" with Big Brother. ![]() ![]() ![]()

i deleted my facebook account years ago because it is just for people seeking attention and validation. i cannot imagine what it is like today. everyone should do themselves a favor and delete it, save your sanity.

I deleted mine many years ago as well, it just didn't made sense to me anymore! I asked my SO to do the same to no avail!

I only created a Facebook account because companies are started posting information only in stories or instagram reel
