Complaining about windows being malware and still using windows is a moot point . There other OS if you dont like it. They nothing in OP that could not be applied to anything else made by the other Big Tech companies but only worse . When you talk about Linux M$ belongs to Linux Kernel Security because they make WSL that use a real Linux Kernel . Many distros work with them to provide it.
All those workarounds just to give yourself a false sense of privacy, That is one of the reasons i moved on from Windows. If you use Linux you could be using your OS instead to be looking for ways to contain it . I use to do all that stuff block Windows update service with Windows Firewall Control but that not the only thing you need to block . Ether you trust Microsoft or you dont if you think you have to do all this stuff to make it not spy on you , really Windows is not for you . Invest in a Mac or switch to Linux or something . People been complaining about Windows for years in 2015 -2016 they were 100s of articles saying windows was malware but that did not make them make a new OS like XP or Windows 7 they moving every off everyone into the cloud and still make Windows 10.
Since Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 is the only supported OS they have left if you dont want to get hacked you have to use them if your going to use Windows and there no use in complaining .The only choices on Desktop is Apple MAC OS there over controlling you think Windows is a jail try stuff made by Apple and you see a jail lol. And there Linux it has a learning curve for new users and you have to learn PC all over again and how to utilize free software and use emulators to run windows software.
That what puts windows in the best position on Desktop there somewhere between Apple and Linux . Desktop is for production , Mobile is for consumption. Microsoft lost most of there consumers to mobile already . Theses other Big Tech companies polices are way worse than M$ is and the masses migrated to it. Windows users have declined every year since they made Windows 10 . Only thing that sparked a interest in Desktop at home again was production working at home .
