I have just looked again at Audacity web site and see that the desktop app privacy notice, updated on 22 July 2021 includes:
"Audacity does not have age restrictions and it is a safe place for creators of any age."
and

Audacity will periodically check to see if a new version of the application is available.

• Stack trace
If a serious error occurs in Audacity, you are shown the relevant information and given the option to send it or not sent it to us as a report.
This now looks ok, or am I missing something?
