just some random thoughts -- music differences in movies in the early 00s vs now

hey all, I was having a convo with my friend the other day. just a random and useless memory, but does anyone remember when most major hollywood movies featured alt rock tracks? im talking about the early 00's into the 10's. After that, it slowly began to shift into trap rap music. I guess I'm just feeling nostalgic, but I totally miss those days. Superhero movies, horror movies, dramas, games, always had a soundtrack primarily featuring alt rock artists. Its very interesting to see how the popular music of the day influences movie and game soundtracks. 

Anyone know what im talking about?
