I read thru all 48 pages of this topic, and Skunk1966, you have the patience of a saint, or you smoke lots of weed and you are very relaxed.
History
I grabbed windows from a torr
it was already activated by KMSPico
then I found some strange dll exe and a open connection to some website, etc
so I want to remove KMSPico and instead use KMS38 so it is long lasting.
I have blocked access to microsoft in a long hosts file so i don't want to try the hardware id.
I uninstalled KMSPico from windows control panel
and I downloaded the KMSCleaner tool from a link in this thread
but when I ran it it had some stuff in it's output that it appeared to have failed, something about certificates...
I ran it as admin, and I temp disabled windows defender
Here is the output from SLmgr.vbs /dlv
It appears this activation is for 172 days
Since I uninstalled KMSPico (I think...) I'm assuming it won't auto renew itself.
How can I verify KMSPico is really uninstalled, so I can proceed to running KMS38 in manual mode?
In manual mode, the instructions #2 says install default generic key.
since I already have a key from previous activation, do I still do this step
or do I need to FIRST remove the existing key, existing activation,
and I don't recall if I read how to do that in these 48 pages
thank you!
If I screw it up (i.e. it fails to activate or current activation is removed), what happens?
Do I need to reinstall fresh, or just try it again?
