Realtek High Definition Audio Latest WHQL
#61
As Microsoft is late to the party as usual with releasing new generic HDA FFxx drivers recently on MS Update:

v6.0.8978.1 HDA FF00 X64 generic (146.1mb cab download - WHQL for x64 Win7/8x/10 - listed in code)

and

v6.0.8971.1 HDA FF04 X64 generic (148.7mb cab download - WHQL for x64 Win10 only - listed in code) [FF04 = generic + CXAPO / Conexant APO]

I can fully confirm this since I recently installed a v6.0.8960.1 HDA (non-UAD) driver on my Gigabyte board and I get this Gigabyte based Realtek audio manager

btw, v6.0.8960.1 HDA X64 generic from this MUC link is an FF0C version, recently posted by MS:

The Realtek audio control app for this driver has branding logo on it. Working fine.

this 6.0.9031.1 UAD Gigabyte driver also produces a Realtek Audio Console app with a Gigabyte logo on it as well

I wish I had found the 9031 driver sooner as that one appears to have been released on Sept. 23 on Gigabyte's web site (while 9034 was released Oct. 5th) but I was recovering from a headache several days ago but I'm feeling much better

edit - let's see if Realtek will give MS or any other OEM a 9030+ HDA FFxx driver though that will take months for that to actually happen

I mentioned this in a few other forums but here are the new subsystem IDs for the 9031 & 9034 drivers from Gigabyte listed in the HDXGigabyte.inf file:

yup, Realtek add that many new device 1458nnnn subsystem IDs (about 40+) to 6.0.9031.1 & 6.0.9034.1 [perhaps some or most of them are for upcoming 11th gen Intel systems]

---

unrelated but Microsoft seems to have recently posted a new generic FF00 HDA driver - v6.0.9000.1 from here

Code:

but the problem with this generic 9000.1 FF00 HDA driver is that it is in 32bit (x86) form and not the commonly used 64bit (x64) version [awwww 17 ].  so I cannot use this except maybe on my cousin's old HP pavilion laptop which does use a 32bit Windows OS and a Realtek ALC268 audio device.  I guess Realtek did not submit an x64 version of 9000.1 FF00 to Microsoft (at least not yet)

Good update. Latest UAD by pal1000 version 6.0.9042.1 is not that good. Lot of noise felt.

finally found the "source" of the 9018 HDA FF00 x64 driver - ASRock Industrial (from their download center page lists the 9018 FF00 driver)

reaction from "Pete" in nsane forums about the 9018 HDA FF00 driver (darn it, the nsaneforums site is currently down & not accessible sometimes)

edit - bummer about pal1000's unofficial 9042 uad, chillgates .  the 9042 UAD MSI driver, on the other hand, is a bug fix that resolved some problems on some modern MSI boards like X470 gaming pro carbon (the v9013 driver crashed with bsods on there) & Meg Z390 Ace

I decided to keep with HDA drivers rather than UAD. HDA drivers are always better. And also uninstalling and installing new realtek driver every week whenever a new 3rd party driver releases is making a mess on my pc. I stick with this 9018 driver for a while.
